Poem: Confessions of A Girl

CONFESSIONS OF A GIRL

With herself at twenty, she realize
That life is vast, too arduous to summarize
Unbeknownst, transition occured rapidly
She was urbane then, now she defies the world madly

Twenty years, she have had just enough or so
She wanted to cease but something is urging her to go
She is not faultless, yet she is trying to be good
Still not heard, often misunderstood
Miseries never fail to cross her way
How she desired happiness will forever stay

She have sought for acceptance, not rejection
She is living in accordance to people's expectations
She feels alone despite she is in a crowd
She have excelled, were they really proud?

She grew in the world with her own hands
She have struggled to discover where she really stands
She have landed on the ground and have reached the peak
She seemed strong although she is still honestly weak
She may appeal clumsy with unstable personality
Immature, irresponsible and unwitty
But she says, "If you take time and sit with me,
You will happen on that there is more that just what you see."

She have fears but she is confused where to seek shield
They gave her wounds but she is unaware on how it could be healed
Her life is cruel at times and have brought destruction
She is tired yet challenged with her life's imperfection
This her story, this is her strife
And these are just confessions of a girl's unhappy life.

My Realization:

Juvenile years are indeed demanding and bewildering.  This poem I have written a decade and three years ago is a manifestation of the kind of life teenagers, possibly a greater fraction of the young population, are probably experiencing and struggling in their youthfulness.  But as of this writing, 13 years later, this poem reawakens a memory of my old younger self, of how inevitable life's challenges were and uncovers a reality of how my life has positively evolved 360 degrees from then on.

Poem: A Self-Delineation

A SELF-DELINEATION

Wanton lips, embed in an uncorrupted mien
Thin gams, spare arms, utterly lean
With hair blowzy, always on a pony
A simple, naive confirmation with an unwonted story

Timid and reticent at first sight
Flaming and aggressive deep down inside
Appeared contented and worry-free for the future
Still delving for truth, craving for adventure

Moves, often at leisure, too feminine
Fulfilling them with grace and success in serene
Though creative imaginations flow freely her thoughts
But her doubts and fears are perplexing her both

Endless dreams, constant inspiration
Invincible principles, self-declared limitations
All contouring the pathway she had stepped upon
Pursuing and enduring what she had begun

Bestowed with gifts that others may also have
Using them all for happiness and love
Cruising over one's unsure destiny
And discovering the veracity of life's mystery

Life, whiles cruel, full of imperfections
Still living to the fullest without hesitations

In the absence of beauty, her sweetness and simplicity reigns
Donning a smile above all gains and pains
Uncover what lies beneath her frailty:
A heart of gold, a simon-pure personality

My Realization:

This poem was composed a decade and 5 years ago. This self-definition have changed through the years.  It is quite ridiculous reminiscing back how our younger years were challenging, unstable and somewhat dramatic. But those circumstances we have encountered have magnanimously helped us mold the kind of person that we are now at present, a better version of our then feeble, juvenile selves.

i Write: As I Wait

I am sharing another poem that I have written several years ago.

AS I WAIT...

Days from now we will part,
But not the mind nor the heart;
Let no tears bedew my cheeks,
Nor allow the heart feel ruptured and weak.

The love we share is not evanescent nor ephemeral;
This love is forever, and thus, eternal.

While I wait,
Overwhelming emotions, I create;
Impassibly, showing euphoria,
Clandestinely, is overwhelming nostalgia.

And as I wait,
I hold on to your vows,
And on the promises that we once wrote on the clouds.

i Write: Life is Bittersweet

Aside from essays, I have also written several poems in the past, and here's one of them.

LIFE IS BITTERSWEET

Rising up to meet a brand new day;
Is something that will not forever stay.
We may be waking up today, yet still unsure to see tomorrow;
So it is best to laugh aloud now, before we die in sorrow.

We aspire for all the good things in life;
But life is imperfect and we cannot avoid strife.
When sufferings assail us, we call on God;

For He is our hope, our only life blood.

Let us remain contented of what we have;
Learn to understand and begin to love.
Let us have faith in ourselves and in our neighbor;

For a tranquil harvest of the fruits of our labor.

Let us try not to seek of what is not there;
Instead, embrace what we get and acknowledge that life is not at all times fair.
And no matter of the umpteen storms we will meet;
Stay calm, have courage and accept that life is bittersweet.
