Summer Flowers

I have been loving hats and even went into designing and selling them at bazaars and in my online shop here.

Here's one of those hats I designed and I personally love this since i love the color combination and the choice of rosettes that I put on to prettify it.  It's just a simple design but I find it elegant.

It's really fun wearing florals for the summer season.
Have you worn your best floral outfit this summer?
 about the outfit:

Fashion Experiment: Playing with Colors = Eggplant + Chartreuse

Fashion Experiment:
Playing with Colors (the veggie edition)
EGGPLANT + CHARTREUSE

Plus, bringing here a TREND ALERT on High-Low Hem Skirt

Btw, let's get to know first what is this high-low skirt?
As the name implies, “high-low” skirts are short in front and longer at the back. The variation in length between the front and back is either subtle or extreme. The overall length of the skirt varies too, ranging from mini to maxi.

This type of skirt is also called the MULLET SKIRT.

  • They make a nice change to the multitudes of form fitting pencil skirts that have dominated shopfloors for countless seasons.
  • They are breezy deluxe. Throw on a relaxed version with an airy, somewhat fitted top, a pair of sandals, straw hat and canvas tote, and you are comfortably and stylishly set for a very hot day.
  • They make a great bathing costume cover-up.
  • I am not a fan of casual maxi skirts, but the raised front that reveals the ankles and part of the lower leg on the longer styles makes all the difference to my eye. The effect is more like a midi with a dipped back, which I find infinitely more flattering than a casual maxi skirt with a symmetrical hemline. The raised front also makes it easier to stride, although you’ll have to be careful walking up and down stairs.

  • They give off a playful and arty vibe.
  • They provide more back coverage than mini skirts despite the high hemline in front. That means you’ll sit on the excess fabric of the skirt when seated, which can be a practical solution for public transport and the like.
  • With the right top, you could successfully sport the volume on volume trend.
  • They are quite striking in motion.

  • Hollywood celebrities are rocking this trend too.
    More here.

This is not actually a high-low skirt, but a different style of pleated skirt with a violet jersey skirt lining and in asymmetrical side hems.  I just folded the jersey lining to make it look a mullet skirt.

    The Color Blue

The color BLUE is the color of trust and responsibility.

Blue seeks peace and tranquility above everything else, promoting both physical and mental relaxation. The color blue reduces stress, creating a sense of calmness, relaxation and order - we certainly feel a sense of calm if we lie on our backs and look into a bright blue cloudless sky. It slows the metabolism. The paler the blue the more freedom we feel.

Positive keywords include: loyalty, trust and integrity, tactful, reliability and responsibility, conservatism and perseverance, caring and concern, idealistic and orderly, authority, devotion and contemplation, peaceful and calm.
Negative keywords include: being rigid, deceitful and spiteful, self-righteous, superstitious and emotionally unstable, too conservative, predictable and weak, unforgiving, and frigid. It can also indicate manipulation, unfaithfulness and untrustworthiness.

Communication: Blue relates to one-to-one verbal communication and self expression.
Peace and calm: The color blue induces calm and peace within us, particularly the deeper shades.
Honesty: Blue is the colour of truth.
Authority: The darker the color blue, the more authority it has.
Religion: Blue is the colour of devotion and religious study.
Wisdom: Blue enhances the wisdom of the intellect.

Conservative: The color blue is a safe colour - the most universally liked colour of all.
Predictable: Blue is not impulsive or spontaneous and it doesn't like to be rushed - blue needs to analyze and think things through, and to work to a plan.
Orderly: Blue needs to have direction & order- untidiness and unpredictability overwhelms it.
Rigid: Blue likes familiarity. It doesn't like change and will stubbornly do things its own way, even if there is a better way.

The shade of blue that I am wearing is COBALT, and guess what?, few minutes earlier I ran over Ford Models website and discovered the  latest color trend:
it's COBALT BLUE.  See more here.

And another thing that makes me beam tonight - I just ranked 178 in PH fashion blogs. I know, I know... it's a thousand miles away from the FIRST blogger, but little things as this, do make me genuinely happy.

Goodnight everyone!  Hope everyone's having the best reasons to smile. :-)

On the Morning of December 24

Christmas MUST be CHRIST-centered, not self-centered, org-centered nor family-centered.  I retained this statement from the early morning mass today.  Yes, Christmas is all about Christ.  It's the time of the year to celebrate Jesus Christ's birthday.

I woke up early and went to hear the last Misa de Gallo mass for 2011 with my family.

Anyway, I was quite hyperactive this morning.  My mind was filled with thoughts on how I can increase my sale for the last 3 days at the bazaar. I still have lots of items available for sale at the booth.  :-(
On the brighter side, I can always sell them online, that's the reason for the early morning photo shoot.

     ooops, grainy pic.
This hat is one of the LIMITED EDITION hats for sale at cyEcle.
Ltd. Ed. since I personally designed the hat and only a maximum of two individuals can own this specially designed hat.  I personally selected the type and print of cloth to wrap into the crown of the hat.

wearing: black and white fitted dress top - bazaar find / cropped fuchsia over-sized knit sweater - I Dress Up / pink belt - Genevieve Gozum / purple embellished flats - Figliarina / sunglasses - SM Naga City / heart long chain necklace - Forever 21 / hat - Limited Edition Hat @ cyEcle
I'm actually wearing my favorite black twill shorts underneath. :-)
