Trend Alert: Fringe Details for F/W 2015-2016

One of Fall/Winter 2-15-2016 Fashion Trend is about FRINGES.

Here's my take on this trend.  Actually, my selection is about the details.  You can find the fringe not on the entire apparel but rather on the hemlines on the sleeves and back of the top and on the hemline of the pencil skirt.

Denims are forever, would you agree?  But who can't resist the peculiarity of this denim skirt? With the stylishly cut and designed hemline and the fringe are twisted / curled for a very interesting finish, any fashionista would be anxious with a mischance.  I made some noise for this outfit by pairing my denim with saturated multicolored pieces - that cute and embellished knit sweater and my equally splashy pair of wedges.

I scored this top for almost two years and only until now that I took the perfect chance to wear it.  The turquoise top with fringe details has a length that reaches right on top of the waistline of my jeans which made me quite uncomfortable.  So I wore a longer dress-blouse underneath with a fluted hemline in sheer fabric to cover my waist-hip portions.

What I Wore:
sequined knit sweater - Cyecle / denim pencil skirt with curl fringe hemline - Lee Kwan / wedge - Mangga Dua Square in Jakarta, Indonesia / sunglasses and watch - G. Fiesta Mall / flower earrings - from Singapore

What I Wore:
blouse with fringe on the sleeves & back - M. Sixteen  / white dress-blouse - Acidic Flower by Uniq / denim jeggings - Jag/ white pumps - Payless / sunglasses - Aldo / scarf - Chic Vintage / earrings - Siam Night Street Market

Sigh Style Tips - Date in Style - Coffee Shop

I have been hooked to drinking coffee a decade ago. But my forever travel buddy had re-ignited my dormant love for anything brewed since last quarter of 2014.  Locally, Bo's Coffee is my choice since aside from being a 100% Filipino owned company, the origins of the their coffee are from the Philippines' vast natural resources.

Few months back, we spent most of our free time, after doing errands, on a coffee date.  And among those days, I am finally doing a post about my outfit in one of our tête-à-tête with a cup of hot latte and cold frappe.

Sigh Styles Tips:
What to Wear on a Coffee Date?

I always take pleasure on coffee dates. For one, i love coffee (now!) and second, time seems to slow down while sipping on our choice of coffee preparation and talking almost about anything from Lee Kuan Yew to #aldub #aldenrichards.

For this coffee date, I wore my oversized lace top with a black camisole underneath and paired with a well-fitted (not too tight nor loose) stretch pencil skirt in this year's color of the year - marsala.  I twisted the skirt's slit and placed it in front to provide ease on my strides. Completed the outfit with my trusted white and gold platforms that I purchased in Hong Kong and toted the oversized Kate Spade New York bag that was gifted by sister last Christmas from her vacation in New York City.

When on a  coffee date, remember - always be chic but make sure to snuggle on your comfy yet still dressy outfit.

What I Wore:
lace top - Cyecle / stretch pencil skirt - vintage / bag - Kate Spade New York / sunglasses - SM Kids Department Store / platforms - from Hong Kong / silver bangles - gifted by my mom /earrings - from Siam Street Night Market in Bangkok

Opposites Attract

Opposites attract, would you agree?

The phrase was the exact title of the feature I once had in Sun Star newspaper... last year.  It took me again this long to post about this feature because of endless priorities that never cease to surprise me.  Anyway, this contribution that I did for Sun Star is dear to me mainly because (1) I offered the concept and was instantly approved and (2) because black-and-white is my all-time favorite color combination and working on about it is such a gigantic pleasure.  Last fall-winter 2014/2015, black and white was one of the trends of the season, and this time for fall-winter 2015/2016, Graphic Black and White in particular, as seen HERE, is again in trend.  Scroll down to see the unpublished photos for the black-and-white concept.

Sigh Style Tips: Cropped, Wide and Neutral

Today is May 1st.  Happy LABOR DAY!

Summer is actually here.  The weather is scorching hot.
What better way to supply fresh air and cool down our bodies is by wearing something cropped and wide.

If you have been following this blog and my fashion sense, you have definitely seen a consistency on the length of the tops / blouses that I wear.   The top must flow below my torso and can even go lower the hips.  The shirt-dress length is what I always prefer to put on.  But this cropped top is something I wanted to experiment on and challenged myself to wear something against my norms.

Wearing something cropped would always entail a showcase of some flesh on the midriff, which is a big no-no for me.  To successfully pull together an outfit with this cropped tiered top, I grabbed my pleated palazzo pants.  It is garterized which gives me the chance to pull the pants upwards so that no skin will be seen and look fundamentally modest.  Indeed, a success.

Put on neutral colored accessories to coordinate with the neutral ensemble.

Hope I have shared a fashion solution to those ladies who are uncomfortable with cropped tops.  Always remember, there's a multitude fashion solutions for every fashion dilemma.  You can email me at sighstyles@gmail.com if you have fashion issues.  I'll help you out.

What I Wore:
tierred cropped top - Cyecle
thin knife pleat black palazzo pants - Cyecle
bejeweled sling-back thongs - 138 Mall
sunglasses - XoXo
chain necklace - Celine

Bangkok Photo Diary 01-2014

I have talked much about my favorite place outside my country in my other blog.  The said blog focuses more on my styling stints and sort of also a travel diary.

I am the type of person who dislike repetitions, like if I watch a movie, one full session is more than enough.  Though there are excemptions like the Hunger Games series and of course, the Lakorns from Thailand.  Yes, I am always amaze with Thailand primarily because I am now a fan of their local artists (as in actors / actresses) and that last January of this year, I opted for Bangkok than anywhere else in the world to enjoy my holidays with my favorite - and forever -  travel buddy.

My recent trip to their country is no longer my first, but my third...and my fingers are counting.

I will share to you the places we went, the foods we ate, the outfits I wore , the people (person) we met during the latest trip.  The photos are randomly ordered.  More photos and with more talks about this trip HERE.

Enjoy Amazing Thailand!
