Work Style: Dress On Pants

Weekend is over and we are back to work again.

I decided to wear my DRESS over my PANTS and put on that oversized blazer.

I love wearing dresses, but I prefer most not showing my gams, that they be worn over my leg warmers: leggings and then now, my pants.

Work Style: Denim and Black

On Wednesdays at work, we wear what we want, and on Saturdays too, where we render overtime work.

WORK STYLE:

 Denim and Black

 It was a Saturday, where I was tasked to attend a company seminar regarding People and Systems Safety. I decided to wear something neutral, something dark, something casual and classic but not monotonous.

Denim is always associated with casual style.  But you can amplify that laid-back look by styling it with pieces that emulates both sophistication and modish vibe.  And when it comes to color, denim jeans can be paired with all hues of the color spectrum.  Since I was to attend a white-collar forum, I opted for the classic black and with hints of white.

The details of this semi-oversized top makes this fashion piece a standout.  The floral-designed appliques on the sleeves and the centerpiece attraction gives noise and glamour to a gloomy colored blouse.

Color-coordination is always an ingredient of my personal daily style.  It is something that I cannot do away with it.  It is a fraction of my lifetime fashion advocacy.

Another  essential consideration in dressing-up with denim jeans is that one should know how to come-up with a look that draws the attention of people away from your denim.  One key solution is by wearing the right accessories that are seemingly loud but not flashy.  Headpieces such as headbands can function both to keep my hair intact (tucked behind my ears) and to look more feminine and kempt.

For events which are expected to consume more time being dormant and stuck in your seats, wearing comfortable outfit is a paramount concern.  That is why I wore my oversized top, stretch denim jeggings  and peep-toe kitten-heeled pumps for the seminar.  And, yes, even with shoes, comfort and style is never apart from each other.

Trend Alert: Polka Dots for Spring 2015

Polka Dots

Polka dots are one of the biggest trends for Spring 2015,  See Here and Here, and for sure there are a lot more of websites talking about this one trend for the season.

I have always been a lover for anything polka dots, most especially in the black and white combo.  My previous posts could certainly attest this statement. And when I got the chance to score this polka dot pants, without doubt and second thoughts, I purchased it right away and have been constantly wearing this chic yet comfortable fashion piece whenever possible.

This year, seems to be a revival of my old good habits of dressing up.  I let my old self come back to the present and bring out my passion for fashion. I have always known myself, and other people have even noticed it, that I do dress-up and almost always in a color-coordinated mode.  This propensity did give birth to a greater fraction of my self-declared fashion advocacy.  I have been talking about my fashion advocacy which is C.L.E.A.N. Fashion where C is for color coherence or color-coordination.

In these two sets of ensemble, I have consistently injected the shade and tint of pink to be monotony-breaker.  Shade of coral and tint of fuchsia are my choices as pink is also a favorite and a go-to hue of mine.

Let's Do The Polka

These two sets of polka dots outfit were actually worn during Wednesdays.  I wore these seemingly-matchy separates to work and was obviously complemented for looking matchy.  Of course, my style is never new to them, but somehow they are quite still amaze or astounded at times as they remain clueless of what I will be wearing next.  See SIGH STYLE Tips below to grasp an idea on how to pull-off an all-polka dots look to work.

(1) Top and Bottom separates in black and white polka dots is effortlessly and modishly worn when paired with a solid color of your favorite shade and tint.  

(2) Polka Dots separates can still even be pulled-off without a monotony-breaker piece of clothing, who says you can't wear polka dots head to toe?  Your accessories, which includes the bag and the shoe could either be color coherent to the polka dots combo or any color of your choice.  

(3) Wear it with the right amount of confidence.  Oftentimes, it's the attitude that counts the most.

Work Style: Quirky Corporate

My day job demands me to wear uniforms: typical color-coordinated / monochromatic separates (top and pants).  Though in a work weekday, Wednesday is spared.  We can wear anything we plan, or even fancy to put on for that day.  This post would commence my series of work styles that "work".

I call this series of posts:
 ''WHAT IS YOUR WORK STYLE?"

To those of you who may have not known yet my fashion statement, here it is:

A fashionable fusion of vintage and contemporary sophistication.  

It's actually just like - old meets new and they blend well elegantly.

So, when it comes to dressing-up for work, I still see to it that my fashion statement will be manifested in my chosen outfit for the day and ensures that the corporate elements are integrated.

Now, with this outfit, what type of occupation can you think of?  And how can you describe in 2 to 3 words with this work style?  I actually call this particular work style as: QUIRKY CORPORATE.

The day job that I landed is zero-related to fashion.  It is a job that demands more scientific thinking.  Period.  I tell you, it's a challenging work.  Basically, the geeks can be fashionable, and they have the right to dress to express themselves creatively.  I am not saying I am geek, nor any synonym close to it.  But since my job necessitates the exhaustion of brain cells, these results to at times slacken, unimaginative, stale, work style.  But when I welcomed 2015, the covenant for consistent fashionable expression is revived and I dare myself to adhere to it.  My sporadic fashion hiatus is now lifted.  The old self (mine) with the self-declared fashion advocacy (C.L.E.A.N. Fashion) is back, ready to amplify the creative fashion noise within me.

The outfit is QUIRKY because of the cutesy elements I decided to put together.  The print top with the cute puppy (see the embellishments on the outline of the print) is paired with a folly pink scallop-hemmed  pencil skirt.  The blacks leggings' ultimate purpose is to hide those gams, since the skirt is way to short for the workplace.  The lavender pink oversized blazer slightly toned down the vibrant aura of the ensemble, it somehow makes it quite look CORPORATE.   The wedge makes everything totally fun, but, before I left the house, I changed into a more comfortable footwear, my fuchsia satin pointed flats.

This QUIRKY CORPORATE style is just one of the many looks I dared to strut at my workplace.  Basically, my choices depends on a number of reasons, e.g. what tasks are laid out for that day?, do I have meetings to attend?  Of course, those considerations are to be taken seriously before deciding on the outfit you have to put on before leaving the house for work.

I dearly hope to have shared a piece of fashion idea for the workplace.  Do keep coming back for more of my work style.
