Ode to Fashionistas: Marvelously Ms. M.

Dedicating this post to the fashionista who inspired me to start my own blog.
I know her for quite sometime and I... have "witnessed" her fashion evolution.

She can wear almost anything under the sun.

And she survives wearing killer heels even on the most busiest days at work, all for the love of fashion.

And great f.y.i., Dred has a really great (super nice) personality.

I'm a person who is so much in love with my comfort zones, dwelling on the "un-techie" side of the world and  one of those beings who doesn't have a Facebook account and don't even plan to open one.  With Dred's persistence on telling me to have my own blog,  and after days and several more days of pondering, I decided to start a blog and the rest is history.

Thanks Dred for opening me up to this whole new blogging thing.

She is definitely an embodiment of "vintage-retro-sultry-feminine" stylista.
I'm  always a fan, never a detractor - this fact is unknown to her until she reads this post :-)

To see more of her style, visit Dred here.

All pics taken by me during our NorthWestern Luzon trip.
I am fond of taking candid moments.

Have a happy weekend.

How To Live Before You Die

I was reading the SunStar newspaper for this day and scanned through a page about Steve Jobs.

STEVE JOBS (1955-2011)  is the visionary co-founder of Apple Computer and of Pixar Animation Studio, " who changed the way people listen to music, share photos, and talk on the phone and shook up the field of personal computing".
Here is an excerpt from Steve Job's commencement address at Stanford University, June 12, 2005.

How To Live Before You Die

DO WHAT YOU LOVE

" Your time is limited, so don't waste it living someone else's life.  Don't be trapped by dogma - which is living with the results of other people's thinking.  Don't let the noise of other people's opinion drown out your inner voice.  And most important, have the courage to follow your heart and intuition.  They somehow already know what you truly want to become..."

My sayWish this Doing-What-We-Love is something as easy as counting 1-2-3 or singing the alphabet.   BUT life is insanely filled with complications and umpteen considerations to reckon.  As maturity hits us and salad days are over, responsibilities fly out from all corners, of all sorts, of all sizes.   And doing-what-we-love becomes something too good to be true.  I have had my fair share of life's highs-and-lows. And I, for one, unceasingly dreams to be able to do things that I love to do. But then again, here comes Reality, and all those hopes and dreams remains as it is.
But never will I regret that my life now is not the kind of life that I want (desired)- because I am not able to do things that I love to do-.  What I learn from my life is that we should just love what our own circumstances has to offer, make the most out of it, fill it with love and everything "nice" will follow.

DEATH BEST INVENTION

" No one wants to die.  Even people who want to go to heaven don't want to die to get there.  And yet death is the destination we all share.  No one has ever escaped it.  And that it as it should be Death is very likely the best single invention of Life.  It is Life's change agent.  It clears out the old to make way for the young.

My sayYes, we are given the best gift from above, our Life.  And yet we all have to die, dates are yet to be revealed.  I honestly am not ready for death, but I know I will die too.  And I will leave everything little thing I temporarily possessed and every big love I have received from the people in my small circle.  But death is indeed inevitable.  We must embrace it and be ready for it,  'cause death is the beginning of something eternal, something we call in Earth as forever.

What's your say on Steve Job's views about life and death?

Ode to Fashionista: Lovely Lissa

I browsed my chictopia account only everytime I remember that I have an account in that site.  But through chictopia there I discovered the charm of Lissa Kahayon then I was more glad to know that she unveiled her very own blog early this year, May 5 in exact.

This is the very first picture she posted on her blog.

She's young, so vibrant,  so transparent, so real. And her sense of style, as I described it and frankly e-mailed her about it, is - simply distinctive, perfectly feminine and brilliantly flirty.

She is indeed a SCENE STEALER!

I'd like to share how she honestly and humbly answered my questions (all for the love of fashion).  I am so grateful that she basically spared me some minutes from her super busy life and took time to answer my 5 queries.  Thanks Lissa!

The Q and A:

How do you define your style?
Lissa- very unpredictable- I can do rocker, girly, punk, tomboy, etc. :) It depends on my mood, the weather or my inspiration for the day.

What are your three essential fashion items?
Lissa- High heels, oversized earrings and a men's watch.

What will be your advice to fashion-novices?
Lissa- Confidence is key and don't follow trends. Always invest in the classics.

What makes your blog successful?
Lissa - I'm really honored you think my blog is successful. I guess when you're passionate about something, it really reflects on your work. I don't let photos pile up on my camera, I always make time to blog no matter how tired I am and I don't blog to brag or show off- what you see in my blog is the real me that I love to share with everyone.

What is your definition about FASHION, in general?
Lissa- Fashion is an expression of one's self. It speaks volumes about a person and is a reflection of who he/she is.

I so like these pics of her and David.  They look soo good together.

Congrats  and More power Lissa!

For those who haven't known her, you'll never regret if you visit her here.
